There is an urgent need for innovation in
science and technology – globally, but especially
in South Africa, as the economic powerhouse
in Africa. But this will only be sustainable if the
country can also bridge the “innovation chasm”
and transform innovation and research into
commercially viable products and services and
create new industries to drive economic growth.
