College Profile
The South African College of Music pursues a wide range
of musical activities. Besides musicology and composition,
there is a strong instrumental and vocal tradition in the
classical field, as well as a very active jazz department
and a flourishing opera school. Ethnomusicology and
practical African music studies are an important part of the
department’s programme.
